Make a difference

Your chance to share your views on the plan for Blaenau Gwent’s future.

We are looking for your views on the exciting new plan for Blaenau Gwent set out in ‘Making a Difference’ – the new draft Community Strategy for the area over a 10 to 20 year period. It has been developed using information from the ‘Living in Blaenau Gwent’ survey – based on face-to-face interviews with 1,000 local people – and also the ideas about the important issues facing Blaenau Gwent identified by local people, organisations and groups who took part in events across the area earlier this year.

The next stage is consultation on ‘Making a Difference’. We want everyone – local people, organisations and community groups – to give us their views. Councillor Des Hillman, who chairs the Blaenau Gwent Local Service Board, said: “Welcome to ‘Making a Difference’ – our new community strategy that sets out priorities for our communities. “We have a shared vision for an exciting future in which  everyone benefits from the regeneration of our communities.”

You can easily give your own response via the online questionnaire.

This consultation gives interested people, organisations and groups the opportunity to give us their views on the draft strategy.

It would help us if you could frame your response in writing (hand written or electronic) around a set of questions.  You will find below the consultation resource including the draft strategy, guidance notes, a short PowerPoint presentation, and the consultation questions (full and short versions).

Copies of the draft strategy can be found at any of our local libraries.

You can complete the consultation online or fill in a simple form – just ask library staff.

The last date for filling in the forms is Sunday, 5 September.
