The 49 year old man who was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 1st September) has been charged with two offences under the Highways Act 1980 (Wilfully obstructing the Highway and Depositing an item on the Highway).
He has been bailed to appear before Newport Magistrates on 11th October.
The man who climbed the Transporter Bridge – a 49 year old from the London area – was been arrested on suspicion of: obstruction of the highway; of public nuisance and of two offences under section 241 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1992.
