On Friday 11 June, police charged a man following a serious assault that occurred in the Orient House Takeaway on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay on Wednesday 9th June.
Paul John Evans, aged 46, who lives in Colwyn Bay, has been charged with GBH with intent and will appear before Llandudno Magistrates.
The victim has undergone surgery and his injuries whilst serious are showing signs of improvement. His condition is described as stable.
A forensic examination of the scene was conducted and valuable evidence was gleaned from this, and it has now been released back to the owner.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Williams, who has led the investigation, is keen to stress to the public that such offences in the Colwyn Bay area are isolated and this was not a stranger attack, as the suspect Evans and the victim were known to each other.
