The man recovered from the River Usk at Caerleon on the evening of Thursday 30th January 2014 has been formally identified as 30 year old Ben Caplan from Newport, who was reported as missing to police on Sunday December 8th 2013.
Gwent Police have said:
“Our thoughts remain with Ben’s family at this difficult time.”
Ben’s family have paid tribute saying:
“The wife and family of Ben Caplan would like to say that they have been overwhelmed by all the messages of support, love and affection that they have received following recent tragic events.
“They especially would like to thank all those who volunteered their own time and everyone else who was involved in the searches, poster campaign and publicity efforts following Bens disappearance.”
