Author, poet, musician and painter Lord Bath has given his seal of approval to the erotic art of Cardiff based artist, Penelope Griggs at a private viewing in Thornbury Castle in Gloucestershire.
The custodian of Longleat House and famed for his own erotic art as well as his polyandrous lifestyle with his many ‘wifelets’, Lord Bath joined Penny and her co-exhibitor K B Hancock for lunch and conversation in the Hall of one of the finest Tudor castles in England.
Penny aged 28, said: “This venue – so gothic and decadent – is perfectly suited to my art and I was honoured to welcome Lord Bath to the exhibition. He is an amazing, sweet, joyful and intelligent man and I am very much an admirer of his erotic art – I was delighted to find that we share many of the same ideas and interests.
“I was also blessed to have the reclusive K B Hancock come out of hiding – he is the only British artist to be made a member of La Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts since Henry Moore in the 1950s. As a member of the society, each year he exhibits at the Grand Palais (Art en Capital) and the Paris Salon at the Carrousel du Louvre.
“It was a fantastic crowd of people and a great time was had by all. I have never been so grateful for the support of so many people.”
After the lunch K B Hancock was so impressed with Penelope’s work he purchased a painting which he intends to submit to the Salon de Paris.
