Pembrokeshire County Council has a new Head of Regeneration.
Martin White is due to start work at County Hall in Haverfordwest early next year.
He is currently the Head of Urban Development for the Auckland Regional Council in New Zealand.
“I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with Pembrokeshire County Council,” he said. “I’m looking forward immensely to working with the regeneration team at the Council.”
Martin, who is married, was born and brought up in Pwllheli in north Wales and studied geography at Keele University. He has an MA in planning from Nottingham University and an MBA from Birmingham.
Before he left for New Zealand he was Head of Economic and Strategic Development at the City and County of Swansea.
A fluent Welsh speaker, he intends to live in Pembrokeshire when he returns from New Zealand.
“I have a strong sense of coming home,” he said. “I really like this part of the world and would often spend weekends here when I worked at Swansea. The quality of life here is outstanding.”
The Head of Regeneration is a new post heading up a new division within the County Council following the merger of the former Economic Development and Regeneration & Tourism divisions.
