Monmouthshire County Council urges residents to make sure they are on the electoral roll as it can affect their chances of getting credit.
Last month, the council sent electoral registration forms to every household in the county, more than 40,000 premises. To date, 70% have been returned.
John Pearson, Local Democracy Manager said:
“It’s really important that everyone who is eligible to vote in Monmouthshire returns their registration form. Being included on the electoral roll not only gives you the opportunity to vote, but can also affect your ability to obtain credit.”
Those eligible to vote should return their form to the Electoral Registration Office, County Hall, Cwmbran, NP44 2XH. For those who haven’t received a form, please call 01633 644212. The 2011 electoral register will be published on the 1st December 2010.
