Rhyl is set to play host to internationally acclaimed pop band McFly, in celebration of the Olympic Games,on the town’s Promenade this summer.
The Rhyl Events Arena is being temporarily transformed into a concert arena and only those purchasing tickets will be able to see this spectacular concert, being held on Sunday, August 12.
In honour of the Olympics 2012 closing ceremony, this major concert will be followed by live streaming of the Olympic Games’ closing ceremony on big screens in the Arena.
McFly’s album Room on the 3rd Floor debuted at number 1 in the UK Album Chart and is certified as double platinum. This led to the band becoming known as the youngest band ever to have an album debut and number 1 – a title taken from The Beatles.
Hit songs include ‘All About You’, ‘Shine a Light’, ‘Star Girl’, and ‘5 Colours In Her Hair’. In fact McFly have had eighteen consecutive top twenty singles, seven of which reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart, and fifteen of which were consecutive top ten singles.
Band members Harry, Dougie, Tom and Danny have had considerable success over the past 10 years including Dougie winning the 11th series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, and Harry winning the 9th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.
