Meirion Place Regeneration Project

Work is nearing completion on a project to enhance the local area at Meirion Place in Tremorfa.

A Cardiff Council Neighbourhood Regeneration project has just been completed and includes landscaping a previously underused car park, providing new paving, improved street lighting, trees and bins. The repaved area should provide a more welcoming entrance for residents and visitors to Meirion Place.

Residents in the area are also benefitting from a Cardiff Council Housing Development scheme. It includes addressing the fire hazard issues surrounding the bin stores attached to the blocks, making improvements to the rear courtyards and providing defensible space to the front boundaries. The scheme is aiming to improve the environment for the residents in the area and making it a more secure place to live.

Councillor Woodman said: “I welcome these improvements to Meirion Place, which should serve to create both a more pleasant street environment, in addition to safer and more secure homes for local residents”

The Neighbourhood Regeneration element of the project was completed last week, while the Housing element is still ongoing.
