Commenting on the announcement from Anglesey Aluminium Metal that production will not recommence at their plant in Holyhead due in part to the lack of cheap electricity from Wylfa, Shadow Minister for the Economy, David Melding, said:
“This news is disappointing but a consequence of allowing the decision on whether to re-commission Wylfa to drift for so long.
“Had the previous Labour Government acted responsibly on the long term future of nuclear power, this plant could have been saved to the great benefit of the people of Anglesey.”
