Commenting on Labour-Plaid’s plans to finally re-start the Business Partnership Council, Shadow Minister for the Economy David Melding AM said:
“After many months of false starts and delays I am pleased that we finally have some movement on what is a critical issue for business in Wales.
“While it is reassuring that WAG has listened to Welsh Conservative calls for a better, more effective Council, it is clear that these plans do not go far enough.
“In particular, the appointment of an independent chair is crucial to the Council’s success.
“An annual report should examine WAG’s progress in actually achieving economic renewal and the Council should also be able to recommend clear policies and benchmarks, aimed at making Wales a more enterprising society.”
