Memories of love on the Eisteddfod Maes

The two feast days of lovers are almost upon us, with St Dwynwen’s Day on 25 January and the more traditional St Valentine’s Day on 14 February. The National Eisteddfod would like to hear any love stories you may have relating to Wales’ leading festival.

Did you meet your partner at a Maes B gig?  Were you both competing for the same prize on the Pavilion stage?  Did you write a winning poem proclaiming your undying love for your sweetheart?  Did you share your first romantic meal under the stars – at one of the Eisteddfod’s own food patios?  Whatever your Eisteddfod love story – we’d love to hear from you.

Did the Eisteddfod change your love life?  Have you been together for years and years since meeting on the Maes?  Share your love stories with us, help to put a smile on the nation’s face – and be in with a chance of winning a romantic meal for two at the restaurant on the Maes at this year’s Eisteddfod in Wrexham.

Elfed Roberts, Eisteddfod Chief Executive, says:

“I’m sure that many people have met their life partner at the Eisteddfod over the years with so many people from different parts of Wales and further afield coming together to enjoy the social aspects at our vibrant festival.

“We’d like you to share your memories with us so we can add to our memory archive, as part of our Celebrate 150 campaign, creating a living archive of memories about one of the world’s greatest cultural festivals.”

You can complete our online memory form by going to www.eisteddfod.org.uk, or you can email us – [email protected] – or by contacting us through our page on facebook – www.facebook.com/eisteddfod.  You can also add your memories to the People’s Collection website – www.peoplescollectionwales.co.uk.

We’ll be publishing some of the memories during the year, and we’d also love to receive any photos of you.  The winners of the romantic meal will be announced on 31 March.

Whatever your story or memories, we’d like to hear from you.  If you’ve got any photos, we’d love to see them – and if you have a story to tell – we want to listen.

The Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod will be held on land at Lower Berse Farm off Ruthin Road from 30 July – 6 August this year.  For more information, go to the website or call 0845 4090 400.
