Libraries in Merthyr Tydfil are now offering Clipper DL Audio Book download service to library members.
Access more than 550 bestselling Clipper Audio titles and download them in comfort of your own home.
Since its launch in July 2010, Merthyr Tydfil Public Libraries has had a very positive response to their audio book download service. Over 100 items have been issued so far, and users are saying how useful and convenient they find the service.
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Library members can download Clipper’s best selling unabridged audio books from anywhere in the world. All that is required is a PC with broadband internet access.
As each title has unlimited availability, Library members can download the latest best sellers at the same time; waiting lists will become a thing of the past.
“By offering best selling Clipper Audio content in a download format, W F Howes once again shows that they lead the way in providing new ways to enjoy audio books,” said Jane Sellwood, Customer Services Librarian.
Jane continued; “With Clipper DL, our customers can enjoy best selling Clipper Audio content from where and when it suits them.”
There are over 550 best selling current and classic titles in the Clipper DL Collection, including many selections for children. Because the simple download process is friendly for listeners of all ages, every Library member can enjoy the new format. The Merthyr Tydfil Library collection includes:

- This Charming Man – Marian Keyes
- Exit Music – Ian Rankin
- The Little Stranger – Sarah Waters
- The Enchantress of Florence – Salman Rushdie
- Mercy – Jodi Picoult
What’s more, brand new titles are added to the collection every month, giving Library members an ever increasing choice of unabridged audio books to listen to.
“With Clipper DL we set out to support the trend with book lovers who want to listen to audio books on the move. By subscribing to the Clipper DL service Library members can access the collection from their own PC, download content whenever they want and transfer it to their iPod® or other portable media player,” said Shaun Sibley Managing Director W F Howes Ltd.
