Mike Peters to light up Christmas in Rhyl

Get Christmas off to a fantastic start along with Mike Peters and a host of other entertainments when he switches the lights on in Rhyl on Saturday 27th November, 2010.

The fun starts at 1pm and Mike Peters will be joined  by Cllr Margaret McCaroll, Mayor of Rhyl to launch the Christmas festivities in Rhyl.

Mike Peters
is best known as the lead singer with one of Wales’ most successful rock acts, The Alarm.

Mike said: “It’s a real honour to be asked to switch on Rhyl’s Christmas lights because as someone born and raised in Rhyl, it’s always special to come home for Christmas, especially after completing a World Tour of Japan, USA and Europe since August.

“To come home and be with my family and friends and join in with the local community for such an occasion will make this Christmas even more special.”

Rhyl is a great town and I’d like to thank all of its residents for being so welcoming.”

Performing alongside Mike  will be a  whole host of entertainers including local band Ugly Harmonies,  Hot Foot Jazz Men, Chris Toppers Puppets, Cylch Meithrin Y Rhyl,  S4C’s favourites Sali Mali and Sam Tan, Children’s Entertainers and  local primary school choir.

Come along and join in the festive fun with entertainment in Rhyl High Street  from 1pm onwards.
