Commenting on reports of ambulances queuing outside Ysbyty Glan Clwyd’s Accident & Emergency Department, Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM, said:
“It is completely unacceptable for patients to be lined up outside A&E and treated in the back of ambulances. When that problem is allowed to continue for days, questions must be answered and everyone affected deserves an unreserved apology.
“Bed blocking is an on-going problem under Labour and needs to be urgently prioritised.
“Not only is there undue suffering for the people stuck outside the hospital – patients being left to languish inside are losing their independence and dignity.
“The Minister must look again at her crushing cuts to the health budget and improve funding for frontline services”.
