A series of community meetings are being organised so that parents, teachers and governors can have their say on proposals to close schools in the area.
Denbighshire County Council has started consulting on proposals to modernise primary schools in the county. Under the plans up to four schools in Dee Valley West could close. The schools earmarked for closure are: Ysgol Bro Elwern at Gwyddelwern, Ysgol Carrog, Ysgol Glyndyfrdwy, Ysgol Llandrillo and Ysgol Betws Gwerfil Goch.
Darren Millar, Assembly Member for Clwyd West, is organising a series of community meetings across the area for concerned parents, teachers and governors to have their say on the proposals.
Darren said:
“I am determined to ensure that the views of parents, teachers and governors are heard during the consultation process which will now take place. In order to assist this, I intend to hold a number of community meetings across my constituency.
“It is crucial that decision makers at Denbighshire listen carefully to the opinions of local people and that the social contribution of schools to their local community is not disregarded.
“Anyone who would like me to arrange a community meeting in their area should contact my office.”
