Commenting on figures published today showing a fall in the number of diagnosed cancer patients starting treatment within target waiting times, Darren Millar AM, Shadow Minister for Health and Social Services, said:
“These figures are further evidence of Welsh patients waiting longer for vital treatment in Labour’s NHS.
“Cancer patients are having to put up with unacceptable waiting times, causing unnecessary distress to patients and their families at an already worrying time.
“Ministers now need to address falling oncologist numbers and revisit their planned £1billion NHS cuts so the NHS can respond swiftly to the needs of Welsh patients.”
