Millar: NHS ‘PR blitz’ proof that Labour is not ‘in-touch’

Commenting on Cabinet papers – obtained by the BBC – showing the Welsh Government is due to step up its PR campaign on NHS reorganisation, Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM, said:

“This secret agenda for centralisation is proof that Labour plans to downgrade local services – something they have previously repeatedly denied.

“Their record-breaking cuts to the Welsh health budget are putting frontline services at risk and will result in patients travelling further for treatment.

“While Ed Miliband crows about Labour being back ‘in-touch’, these documents make it very clear that their proposals for the Welsh NHS are disliked and unsuitable.

“Ministers are so out-of-touch that they’re recruiting doctors into their PR machine to try and convince patients of their ill-thought and dangerous plans.”
