Conwy County Borough Council’s decision to take over ownership of the Victoria Pier in Colwyn Bay has today been welcomed by Clwyd West AM Darren Millar.
At a meeting of the full Council this week, the Council voted to bid for full ownership of the Pier. Negotiations on the details of the agreement will now proceed.
Commenting on the development, Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar said:
‘This is a step in the right direction, the Pier has been an eyesore on the waterfront in Colwyn Bay for far too long and is letting the town’s regeneration efforts down.
‘I’m hopeful that the Council’s decision will help in the push to resolve this issue once and for all.
‘I will be pressing the Welsh Government to ensure that they support the Council in its endeavours and will be working with the Minister and other stakeholders to explore channels of funding which might be available to support them.’
