Local residents are being urged to show their support to save Kinmel Bay Library from closure.
Conwy County Borough Council has agreed to consult on the closure of a number of libraries across the area, including Kinmel Bay. The Council’s decision will be scrutinised by a group of County Councillors on Monday 10th January at 10:30am and Darren Millar, Assembly Member for Clwyd West, is urging as many as people as possible to attend to show their opposition to the Council’s plans to close the library.
When asked to comment Darren said:
‘The closure of Kinmel Bay library would be a real blow for local residents. It’s an important facility for the local community.
‘The campaign to save the library has gained real support, including from Towyn and Kinmel Bay Town Council.
‘This meeting next week is an important opportunity for local residents to show the strength of opposition over plans to close the library. We need to do everything we can to ensure the library stays open and I want as many people as possible to turn up next week to make their views known.’
