Commenting on WAG’s decision to re-route the Holyhead–Cardiff express services to stop at Colwyn Bay and Wrexham, Shadow Minister for Transport Darren Millar AM, said:
“This announcement is very welcome news for these two large population centres in North Wales.
“I’m pleased that the Deputy First Minister has finally listened to our calls for the train service to call at Colwyn Bay and Wrexham – it was wrong that these were overlooked in planning the service previously.
“This is another example of a short-sighted Minister having to undertake a “U” turn following pressure and scrutiny by Welsh Conservatives and others.
“That Labour-Plaid was ready to invest £3.5 million into this service without it stopping in these places in the first place was ludicrous.”
