Delays in funding decisions for community projects in rural Conwy is threatening 35 jobs in the county, according to a local Assembly Member.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has called for an urgent statement on the future of the Conwy Rural Partnership following a meeting with the organisation earlier in the week.
The Conwy Rural Partnership aims to improve and enhance the lives of people living and working in rural Conwy. The project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, the European Union and Conwy County Borough Council.
Commenting Darren said:
“I am very concerned that people could lose their jobs if the Minister doesn’t get a grip of this soon.
“Delays in payments and decisions about the future of projects are creating massive uncertainty for those working on projects funded by the partnership – it is totally unacceptable.
“Many rural communities in my constituency benefit from the projects delivered under this scheme and it would be unfair for these to lose out as a result of problems in a government department.”
