Commenting on the Minister for Transport’s confirmation of a review into the amount of money spent on winter weather, Shadow Minister for Transport Darren Millar AM said:
“It is very encouraging that the Welsh Assembly Government has followed the UK Government’s lead and agreed to carry out a review of investment here.
“The weather has caused unacceptable levels of disruption in many parts of Wales and it is very clear that we need to look again at the way we deal with the issue.
“Welsh Conservatives have been calling for appropriate winter planning for many months. We have also previously called for statutory guidance on salt stocks to be issued to Welsh councils.
“These calls have been ignored by Labour-Plaid and we are now dealing with the consequences.”
