Mr Povey has now been found safe and well.
South Wales Police are currently searching for a 69 year old male reported missing from the Tonyrefail area.
John Povey was reported missing from his home address at Maes-Y-Bryn, Tonyrefail, Porth at 10:00 pm last night. Mr Povey suffers from Parkinson’s disease and dementia and has not been seen since leaving the address on foot around 07:00 pm yesterday evening.
Police are urging residents of the Tonyrefail area to please check their gardens and outbuildings. However, South Wales Police are mindful of the local terrain and are requesting for their own safety that the public do not search elsewhere, particularly off the beaten track.
Mr Povey is described as: White, 69 years old, 5’5’’ tall, medium build with white balding hair, glasses and wearing dark clothing.
