The search for 68-year-old Pauline Annette Edwards, who has been missing for over a week, has been suspended.
Mrs Edwards, who is from Buckley in Flintshire, was reported missing from an address in Trefor, near Caernarfon on Friday 5th February.
In excess of 200 people – police and volunteers – have carried out extensive searches in the Trefor area on Saturday, 13th February.
Inspector Mark Armstrong said: “Search teams have now exhausted all potential avenues, and the searches have been suspended for the time being pending further information resulting from police inquiries.
“Despite thorough land and sea searches over the weekend we still have no clue as to Mrs Edwards’ whereabouts.
He added: “The situation is under constant review and we will continue to have a police presence in Trefor with officers conducting foot patrols around the village.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are still appealing to anybody who may have seen Mrs Edwards, or a woman of a similar description to contact us.”
The searches on Saturday involved police officers and the force helicopter, volunteers from various Mountain Rescue Team, SARDA and the Coastguard.
Superintendent Mark Owen said: “North Wales Police would like to acknowledge the excellent work carried out by search and rescue volunteers in relation to this enquiry.
“In North Wales the police could not operate these sorts of searches without the unstinting support of these invaluable volunteers.”
