Missing woman: Searches to continue over the weekend

Searches will continue over the weekend for a 68-year-old woman who has been missing for a week.

Pauline Annette Edwards, who is from Buckley in Flintshire, was reported missing from an address in Trefor, Caernarfon, last Friday (5th February).

Searches involving various Mountain Rescue Teams, SARDA, the Coastguard and the police helicopter will continue in the Trefor area tomorrow (Saturday) and North Wales Police will also be carrying out high-visibility patrols and house to house enquiries in the area.

“Despite several lines of enquiry there has been no trace of Mrs Edwards since she was last spotted at around 4pm on the 5th, walking on a footpath leading down to the beach,” said Inspector Mark Armstrong.

“We are concerned for her safety and whereabouts and are urging anybody who may have seen her, or anybody who may have information that could assist us to come forward.”

Mrs Edwards is described as being 5 ft 2 inches tall, of slim build and has collar length straight brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur collar, three quarter length black trousers and black boots.

Yesterday her family issued the following appeal: “A plea for our missing beautiful Mother and wonderful wife, Pauline Annette Edwards.

“Please come home, or let us know you are safe and well. We all miss you dearly and love you very much. From your loving daughters and husband – Julie, Penny, and John.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact North Wales Police on 101, if you’re calling from Wales, or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh line) or 0845 607 1002 (English line).
