The Moelfre RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew recently received a large donation towards the cost of the new Moelfre RNLI lifeboat station.
The donation for the sum of £800 was presented to Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Rod Pace, by Mrs Jill Moss, along with her family and friends from Stockport. The donation was in memory of her late husband, Mr David Moss, who sadly passed away, aged 55 years following a long illness.
Jill said, ‘David was an enthusiastic supporter of the RNLI and spent many happy holidays in Moelfre ever since his childhood. He visited the lifeboat Station on numerous occasions. We felt that it would be appropriate to donate this money to the Moelfre RNLI lifeboat station so they can continue with their vital lifesaving work’.
Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager Rod Pace said:
‘The Moelfre RNLI lifeboat volunteer crew would like to send their condolences to Jill and her family and thank them for this kind donation. Jill has asked that the money goes towards the build of the new Moelfre RNLI lifeboat station. This will house the £2.7 million Tamar class RNLI lifeboat, which is due to be the next generation of Moelfre lifeboat. As a charity, the RNLI relies on donations to allow us to continue saving lives at sea.’
