The Moelfre RNLI volunteer crew have received a large donation from a devoted supporter who recently completed the annual Menai Straits swim.
The donation for the sum of £1,400 was presented to Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager Rod Pace by Mr Adrian Clark who completed the event in tenth position, in a time of 40minutes 19 seconds.
Forty-five-year old Adrian, who owns a house in Moelfre, also raised £1,700 last year for the RNLI when he completed the 125 mile Anglesey coastal walk in 5 days 10 hours and 50 minutes.
Adrian said: ‘I have always been a passionate supporter of the RNLI and have become good friends with the local Volunteer Lifeboat crew at Moelfre. I am always delighted to be able to raise money for this lifesaving charity’.
Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Operations manager Rod Pace said: ‘I would like to thank Adrian for this kind donation and congratulate him on another wonderful achievement. As a charity that saves life at sea the RNLI relies on fundraisers like Adrian to allow the volunteer RNLI Lifeboat crews to continue their vital lifesaving work.
‘This donation will be used to fund the Tamar project, the next generation RNLI Lifeboat due to be stationed at Moelfre in the very near future’.
