Monmouthshire Deputy Chief Executive to Retire

MonExecMoyna Wilkinson, Monmouthshire County Council’s Deputy Chief Executive, will retire at the end of this year.  Moyna joined the council at local government reorganisation in 1996.  She went on to become Corporate Director of Social Services from 2005 to 2010 and for the last three years has been Deputy Chief Executive.

Moyna said:

It is difficult to put into words how much I have enjoyed working in Monmouthshire.  It is a great place and I want to give a big thank you to all the people I have worked with over the years, both inside and outside the council.  As far as I am concerned there is something special about Monmouthshire.  Clearly, there are tricky times ahead but I believe that there are the ideas and the energy inside this county to find the way forward together.  I wish Monmouthshire all the very best for the future.”

Cllr Peter Fox, Leader of Monmouthshire County Council said:

“I’m very sorry that Moyna will be leaving us and I wish her a very happy retirement.  She has been an incredible asset to this council.  Her wisdom, insight and knowledge have been incredibly helpful – especially in recent years as funding has become tighter and we’ve had to rely far more on the raw ability of our people.  I will miss her good humour, her honest and straight talking approach, her ability to deliver on major projects – the Olympic Flame coming to Monmouthshire immediately springs to mind – and her genuine concern for the communities we serve.”
