Montgomeryshire MP Goes Back to School

Glyn Davies, Montgomeryshire’s Conservative MP revisited his childhood last Friday afternoon when he spent the afternoon at Castle Caereinion Primary School.  After being shown around the School by some of the pupils, he answered testing questions for 30 minutes.

Commenting on his visit Glyn Davies said;

“Going back to my old primary school for the day was like flying back in my own ‘time machine’.  I still clearly remember my first day at the School, sixty years ago, when my younger sister looked after me.  I was always a quiet little boy, who somewhere down the line found his voice.”

“Castle Caereinion is a lovely small school, where the children are incredibly polite and confident.  The teaching staff, led by Mr Huw Jones have every reason to be proud of what they have achieved.  We held a lively Question Time, which put the squabbling and histrionics of the BBC’s version to shame.  The nostalgia of my visit was complete when I was given a copy of a school photograph from 1953, which included myself and two of my sisters, Joan and Mary.”
