Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, has contacted senior managers at the Post Office, who have reassured him that they are committed to maintaining services within Welshpool.
Welshpool Post Office is currently located in the town’s One Stop shop on Broad Street, which is to be sold to new owners.
Commenting on the situation, Glyn said:
“I am in regular contact with the Post Office’s Senior Stakeholder Manger for Wales, who reassures me that the Post Office is committed to maintaining a service in Welshpool, and will persist in working hard to ensure this.
“I will continue to keep in touch with the Post Office about this issue. It’s vital that Post Office services are retained in Welshpool, which provides an integral service to many residents from the town and surrounding areas. It is also important that Welshpool Post Office remains located in an area which is convenient and easily accessible for everyone.”
