Glyn Davies, Montgomeryshire’s Conservative MP has welcomed today’s announcement by Cobra UK, based at Welshpool, that the company has won a £12 million contract with Vauxhall Motors. The contract will mean that Cobra UK will be increasing its workforce by 49 to almost 100. The jobs will be split between Welshpool and Cobra UK’s Wrexham facility.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Glyn Davies said:
“Cobra UK is a very important business in Welshpool. I visited the company last year when it won the Queen’s Award for Industry in the International Trade category. The news of 49 new jobs is particularly welcome at a time when the entire European economy is going through such a difficult time.
“It’s also good news that Vauxhall UK has placed such an important order with a Wales-based manufacturing business. Today’s news is a very welcome Christmas present for Welshpool.”
