Commenting on a decision to cancel the implementation of Local Government Boundary Reviews, Shadow Minister for Local Government, Jonathan Morgan AM said:
“With so many concerns about the work of the Local Government Boundary Commission, the nature of some of the proposals and the inaccuracy of data used, I welcome the sensible decision of the Minister to cancel the implementation of the reviews.
“We now need a review of the boundary setting system for local government, to ensure the commission has the capacity and expertise to do the job properly. We cannot afford for these mistakes to be made.”
