Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis took part in an adjournment debate yesterday in Westminster Hall yesterday secured by Peter Hain MP, in which he supported the continued delivery of local justice in Neath and Port Talbot and opposed the closure of the Neath Port Talbot Magistrates Court.
Dr Francis said,
“One of the central tenets of our common-law system, alongside trial by jury and the appointment of local magistrates, is the importance of the local delivery of local justice.
I strongly oppose the decision of the current Government to close the Neath Port Talbot Magistrates Court, which also serves my constituents in Aberavon.”
