Clwyd West MP, David Jones, has welcomed the launch of the Government’s new “HomeSwap Direct” initiative. The new scheme provides social housing tenants with the opportunity to exchange home with other tenants anywhere in the UK.
HomeSwap Direct allows tenants who are looking to move to identify suitable properties and then to arrange an exchange. The service has brought together a variety of services and allows tenants to see the full range of properties available.
David Jones said:
“Bringing social housing services together through the HomeSwap Direct initiative is an important step towards giving social housing tenants far greater choice in terms of where they live.
“The scheme will give many tenants the option of finding a home which better suits their needs, whether that is nearer to work and local amenities or simply a more convenient property.”
