The Lloyd George Museum in Llanystumdwy has proved to be more than just a record of the ex Prime Minister’s life, as a wedding was held there recently.
Elizabeth George and Dafydd Lloyd got married in the museum on 11September this year, the first wedding to be held there since the attraction was granted a licence.
Elizabeth had a good reason for getting married in this location as her late father, Dr W R P George, was Lloyd George’s nephew. It is also apt that she married Mr Lloyd, yet another connection to the late prime minister.
The museum is a beautiful place to get married, with space for 50 guests in the theatre for the service and there are excellent photo opportunities in the attraction and in the garden.
The Lloyd George theme continued throughout the day of the wedding as Elizabeth and Dafydd, and their friends and family, enjoyed a reception at Tŷ Newydd, Lloyd George’s last home in Llanystumdwy, which is now a writing and translating centre.
