National Eisteddfod Launches Appeal for Stewards

It’s National Make a Difference Day at the end of the week, and the National Eisteddfod is getting involved by encouraging people to volunteer as stewards at the Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod, held from 30 July – 6 August next year.

Eisteddfod Organiser, Hywel Wyn Edwards says:

“We launch an appeal for volunteers of all ages to be part of the Eisteddfod team during the festival every year.  This year, we’ve decided to link our appeal with the National Make a Difference Day.  We are very dependent on the team of volunteers who assist us every year, and are grateful to them for their help and support.  Our stewards are often the Eisteddfod’s fist contact with visitors, so it is vitally important that we have a strong and committed team.

“Our aim is to ensure that we have volunteers from a wide age range and backgrounds, supportive of the Eisteddfod and keen to be part of its success.  There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer across the Maes during the week, with a friendly team happy to help our visitors in all types of situations.”

You can complete the registration form online, download the form from the website – www.eisteddfod.org.uk – or via facebook – www.facebook.com/eisteddfod.  Alternatively you can ting the office on 0845 4090 400 for more information.  There is no closing date for applications and training is held in July 2011.
