Neath sealed the Principality Premiership title in fine style at The Gnoll as they went try-crazy in a record 109-21 victory against Bedwas.
Wales Under 20 wing Kristian Phillips led the way with four of the home side’s 17 tries to guide the Welsh All Blacks to their fifth in six years after Cardiff’s triumph last season.
There was also a hat-trick for veteran fly-half Arwel Thomas, who scored a match total of 25 points, and a brace for Alec Jenkins and Craig Price. Gareth Gravell, Kevin Farrell, Nathan Brew, Kevin James, Gareth King and David Evans completed the scoring on a historic day for Neath, who still have a game to play.
Ebbw Vale’s fate at the bottom may already have been sealed, but they produced a spirited performance to see off Glamorgan Wanderers, 36-30. Prop Aaron Coundley scored a marvellous hat-trick, while there were also touchdowns for lock Nick Eaves and centre Lloyd Phillips.
Youngster Joe Xibberas scored a brace for the Wanderers but it was not enough to prevent them from falling to another defeat.
In the only other Premiership game, Aberavon crossed eight times in beating Pontypool 60-27. Wing Chris Morgan scored a hat-trick, his partner on the other wing Mark Bennett scored a brace and Ashley Beck, Neil White and Christian Richards also crossed as the home side eased to victory.
