The Neath North ward has elected a new county borough councillor to sit on Neath Port Talbot Council.
Mark Protheroe, from Harle Street in Neath town centre, has taken up his seat on the Council this week when he was officially signed up by the Chief Executive, Steve Phillips.
The seat was previously held by the late Manny Loaring.
43 year old Mark was born and bred in Neath. He is married to Ann and they have three children.
Mark is a self employed engineer and runs his business across the county borough.
Mark said, “I am grateful and honoured that the people of Neath North have put their confidence in me and wish to thank everyone for their support and good wishes.
“Thanks must go as well to my campaign team for doing such a great job.
“Councillor Loaring was very well respected in the ward and I am committed to following in his footsteps and doing my utmost to serve my community to the best of my ability.”
