Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel (winners of the Best Western Hotel of the Year 2009) played host to the ‘Meet Neath Port Talbot‘ event held recently.
The event was organised by Neath Port Talbot Council’s Tourism Team, Tourism Swansea Bay Trade Association, Gallu, a training provider and Aberavon Beach Hotel. The aim of the event was to introduce local tourism businesses to council staff and other local businesses in the area.
Many local tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses turned up to learn more about what the Neath Port Talbot tourism industry in the Swansea Bay area has to offer as a visitor destination. The networking event provided businesses with a chance to promote their own business.
As well as local tourism officers, staff from Neath Port Talbot Council and the City and County of Swansea’s business teams, Business Connect and the Welsh Assembly Government Regional Centre Service were available to offer business advice.
Cllr Ali Thomas, leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, said, “We are committed to supporting local tourism businesses and events such as these demonstrate that the council wants to encourage local businesses to work together to help promote tourism in Neath Port Talbot.”
