Coleg Gwent Crosskeys Campus netball team represented southeast Wales on Sunday 25 March and came away victorious having being crowned Welsh Under 18 Schools Netball Champions in the Presidents Cup.
The team took the competition by storm, defeating all of the seven other county representative teams, beating Afon Nedd Tawe in the final, 7 goals to 6 to secure the title. This follows their success winning the Urdd Under 18 Netball Championships earlier on in the season.
This is the start of a busy week for the College netball team who play Bridgewater College in the quarterfinals of the British Colleges Plate Competition on Wednesday and compete at the British Colleges Sport Championships in Bath at the weekend.
Coach Emma Hurley said: “I was delighted with the positive attitude the girls showed and their commitment to their netball. Last year we were third and it was eight years ago we last won this title. This weekend will be an even tougher challenge.”
