Folk-rockers Oysterband take a new approach at Brecon’s Theatr Brycheiniog on Thursday 8 October when they play an acoustic set of their greatest hits and more.
The concert promises to be an acoustic journey through classic and rare gems from the Oysterband songbook presented in the inimitable, upfront style for which the band has become acclaimed.
Just for this tour, the band have re-imagined and re-vitalised song arrangements using different instruments such as kantele and harmonium, whilst keeping their energy and harmonies to the fore.
‘Since the release of the superb album Meet You There earlier this year, the band seems to have found a new confidence in itself and its songs,’ said Lee Collins, Theatr Brycheiniog’s marketing manager. ‘I think the concert will be an eye-opener for both fans and newcomers alike and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the stripped down acoustic style.’
Oysterband’s Welsh tour also takes in Tenby De Valence Pavilion (6 October), Cardigan Theatr Mwldan (7 October), Pontypridd Muni Arts Centre (9 October), Aberystwyth Arts Centre (10 October) and Caernarfon Galeri (11 October).
Tickets for Oysterband at Theatr Brycheiniog on Thursday 8 October cost £15.00 and are available online at www.theatrbrycheiniog.co.uk or by telephone on 01874 611622.
