Gwynedd’s young artists will have a chance to develop their creative skills in a new art club at the Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery in Bangor from November onwards.
The I Love Art: Club funded by Gwynedd Council will offer a variety of art activities which will follow many different themes. The club will be coordinated by talented Bethesda artist, Annwen Burgess, who’s a community artist with experience of working with children on a variety of art projects.
Gwawr Wyn Roberts, Gwynedd Council’s Community Arts Development Officer said:
“The I Love Art: Club is a great chance for children in Gwynedd to develop their skills and gain an interest in art work. The workshops will be totally informal and they’ll give children the opportunity to experiment, express themselves and play through the medium of art.
“It will be fun all round and Annwen Burgess has great experience when it comes to encouraging children to enjoy and appreciate art. The club will be a great place for children to socialise, make new friends and to play a vital role within the Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery.
“Who knows, maybe the club members will be the artists of the future displaying their work in the gallery?”
The club will be held from November 2010 to March 2011, with one two-hour session between 10.30am-12.30pm each month. The club is for children between the ages of seven and 11 and the membership fee is £15 (£3 per session).
