Next month the Cardiff Story Museum will launch a new monthly event especially for babies and toddlers. The group called Dinky Dragons will take place every second Friday of the month.
The first event will take place on February 14th with the drop in sessions between 11am until 4pm. Where the museum galleries will be transformed into a toddler and baby zone – with
play, rhymes, stories, detective trails, craft, messy play, music and more
The sessions will include –
11am-12 Messy Play
1-1.30pm Rhyme Time
2-2.30pm Story Time
It is a drop in event and people can join in at anytime with activities aimed at children aged 0-5.
Thanks to a £2,228 grant by the Federation of Museums and Art Galleries of Wales the museum is planning on hosting a fun event for adults to bring along their baby or toddler.
The museum will use the grant to buy fun equipment, resources and to actively publicise the sessions to families in Cardiff.
“We’re really excited about getting this grant, as it means we’re able to run more sessions for more Cardiff families, to add to our regular school holiday activities” explained Museum Manager, Victoria Rogers. “We know that families love to come down to our City Lab gallery to play, so it will be nice to be able to add things to do for the youngest members of the family too!”
Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Ramesh Patel, said: ”The Cardiff Story is already popular with families, the new monthly baby and toddler event will give families even more of a reason to visit the museum. Its fantastic news that the grant we have received from the Federation of Museum and Art Galleries of Wales will assist in buying new equipment so we can expand on our already busy programme of events that we host at the museum.”
