New chapter for Cupid at community library

Cupid will soon make a return visit to a Swansea library.

Two more speed dating events have now been arranged at Killay Library after the success of the first back in February.

The events will take place at 7pm on both Friday June 11 and Friday June 18.

Spaces for ten men and ten women are available at each event. The June 11 event is for 20 to 35-year-olds and the June 18 event is for 35 to 50-year-olds.

A small booking fee applies and tickets are only guaranteed if the money is paid in advance at the library.

Swansea Council is behind the events.

Rhyannon Smith, of Killay Library, said: “The first speed dating event we held in the library earlier in the year was a success story so we’ve decided to organise two more and are also trying to arrange a similar event for 40 to 50-year-olds in late August.

“The only thing we’d ask is that anyone interested comes along in person to pay their £3 booking fee at the library because this would help avoid disappointment on the night if some people don’t turn up.

“Evenings of this nature help to raise the profile of libraries and can often lead to romance. I’d urge anyone interested to get in touch.”
