Alan Lockyer, from Harle Street in Neath town centre, has taken up his seat on the Council this week, when he was officially signed up by the Chief Executive, Steve Phillips.
The Neath North ward has elected a new county borough councillor to sit on Neath Port Talbot Council.
Alan Lockyer, from Harle Street in Neath town centre, has taken up his seat on the Council this week, when he was officially signed up by the Chief Executive, Steve Phillips.
The seat was previously held by former Leader, Derek Vaughan, who is now a Member of the European Parliament.
45 year old Alan, moved to Bryncoch as a young child and has lived in Neath for 22 years. He is married to Jan and they have four grown up children, two of them still living in Neath.
He is a lecturer at Neath Port Talbot College.
Alan said, “I am grateful and honoured that the people of Neath North have put their confidence in me.
“There was a good cross section of candidates and parties and I feel the residents have truly expressed their wish with such a good majority.”
