The Lion Street Gallery is a new gallery in the very heart of Hay on Wye, specialising in artists who work in Wales. They will be showing both established and up and coming new talent.
For our official gallery opening, on the 16 April, they are showing work by the artist Glyn Price and having the ribbon cut by the Assembly Member Kirsty Williams.
Glyn has lived in Cwm-Y-Glo all of his life, a stone’s throw from Anglesey, all bar his time spent at Gloucester University studying for a degree in Fine Art in 1998. Since his return, all he has wanted to do is draw and paint the Snowdonia scenery. His work is unique in its interpretation of this magnificent landscape, it responds to the rhythms and shapes of the land he lives and works in. Glyn’s paintings have an allegorical feel to them and as such have a deep resonance.
The gallery told us:
“Glyn has a great future ahead of him, and that he will quickly establish himself as a name to watch in the Welsh art world. The exhibition will be running from 16 April till 1 May.
“If any Welsh Icons readers’ would like to receive a private view invite for the 16th April, them just visit our website and log on as a member.”
