A new gymnastics club gets off the ground at Abercynon Sports Centre next month. Funded initially through a partnership between Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and Sports Wales, Cwm Gymnastics Club – a British Gymnastics registered club – starts on Saturday, November 13, 2010.
Children and young people from four years of age will be able to take part in hour-long gym sessions between 9am and 5pm each Saturday. Organised by Level 2 head coach Kathryn Cope, the club will meet the high demand for gymnastics sessions across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Cllr Robert Bevan, said: “It is good to see this much-needed club starting up in Abercynon. Children and young people in the area will really benefit from attending.”
Head coach, Kathryn Cope said: “We look forward to welcoming new members to the club, which will offer a series of age range-based sessions for children of all abilities, focusing in developing key skills.”
To register your child’s interest in the club, or for more information, please contact either Abercynon Sports Centre on 01443 740141 or Kathryn Cope, on 07958 404009.
