New head appointed to Vale of Clwyd school

The governing body at Ysgol Pen Barras, Ruthin has appointed a new headteacher.

Marc Lloyd Jones, currently the headteacher of Ysgol Croes Atti in Flint will take on his new role at the start of the academic year in September.

Originally from Rhewl in the Vale of Clwyd, Marc currently lives in Mold.

Marc Lloyd Jones, said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Ysgol Pen Barras. The school has an extremely good reputation with a talented and dedicated team of staff in place that deliver a quality education to each and every one of the pupils.

“I look forward to working with the team, with governors, pupils and parents to continue with the excellent work that is already going on at the school”.

Huw Hilditch Roberts, Chairman of the Governing Body, said: “We are delighted that a headteacher of Marc’s calibre will be joining the team at Pen Barras.

“He has a wealth of experience as a headteacher, most recently running a Welsh medium school in Flintshire. He will be a great asset to the team and we look forward to working with him to further raise standards at the school.”
