The second stage of Welsh Independent Dance’s (WID) unique choreographic development programme, Dance Bytes takes to the stage on Friday with a second performance added due to popular demand.
The first presentations took place on October 3 – 4 at Chapter when choreographers Jessie Brett; Eleanor Brown and Kim Noble; Etta Ermini; Batel Magen; Jo Shapland; Joe Wild and Angharad Matthews showed their ideas to sell out audiences.
The Dance Bytes panel of WID Board Member Janet Fieldsend, independent Dance Artist Sandra Harnisch-Lacey and programmer Judi Hughes held an evaluation session and selected Jessie Brett; Eleanor Brown and Kim Noble; Jo Shapland and Joe Wild and Angharad Matthews who will show their ideas as work in progress in the Chapter studio on Friday.
Tickets for the shows, at at 5.30pm and 8pm, are £8 which includes a complimentary drink. There is also a post show talk. For tickets call the Chapter box office on 029 2030 4404.
As part of the Dance Bytes programme, WID are also running a critique competition to encourage greater audience participation. Audience members are invited to submit a written critique of the work in progress show and the winner will receive a commission of £150 to review the Dance Bytes New Work show at Weston Studio, Wales Millennium Centre on March 16 – 17, 2010.
